Sorry to hear about Zach, too. His parents obviously want to retaliate for the embarrassment he has caused them to suffer, especially since he was sent there to save them from embarrassment in the first place.

A terrific definition of ignorance: an unwillingness to experience - eg., life in someone else's boots, without trying to change or fix them.

Our current US brand of postmodern thought = at best multiple moral points in the dirt; at worst callous, feckless, stupid, disingenuous, or simply corrupt 'bottom lines' disguising themselves as moral stances. I think hedonism might be a good horse if all we can hope for is Dr. Phil pontificating as "a psychologist."
