Thanks, everyone. I had one piece of the surgery yesteday. That was cleaning out the neck. After that is recovered from, the Aorta is next. Apparantly they don't want to do these together, something about they don't want two big blood vessles both bleeding together or some such nonsensense. Anyhow, I may well be back and forth for a while.
One Doc says I had a great big stroke and one Doc says had had a little stroke. I am just going to split them and say I had a medium sized one, at least until I can get the Docs to agree. I seem to be having quite a bit of trouble speaking, somewhat less writing, unless this looks worse to y'all than it does to me.
I'll know more sometime soon.

I could explain why you can write better than you can talk, but it doesn't matter. What does matter is that you're getting better.

Lookin' good Pete! Yeah, not unusual at all to have one thing affected by a stroke. I'm glad you can write pretty well, it's not ideal, but if you get stuck on speaking - write it out! This might be some of the recovery therapy they offer you. It will take a while to work those connections back up. Anyhow, glad to hear from you - we're all pulling for you.
Pete - your writing looks good to me, man. Glad to see you got the first one out of the way. I hope any others go just as well.

I'm glad things are looking up. You're in my thoughts and prayers. The speech will come back... you just need some really good speech therapy. My Mom in law used to do that for people and it really does work.
