From what I understand of the birth certificate issue, the people who were responsible for checking it were the people in Congress who certified the electoral college ballot count. That was the point at which they could have questioned Obama's constitutional qualifications for office.
Sadly, it was not politically expedient for them to do so.
i am in mourning. surely do hope she does something wonderful to bring me out of mourning, but for now i am very sad. still have my big pink sarah button on my purse strap.
Peter I'm with you on hoping there is nothing even worse happening to her that isn't public. She not only had to endure the vicious attacks of the left, but of the right too... her own party. The way they've treated her is truly disgusting. *sigh*
However, I am a huge admirer of how gracefully she has handled things. I guess time will tell what happens. My good wishes are with her and her family.
