I am current rebuilding after a Knee job. Take all of the pain drugs. Don't worry about addiction. It will help get the strength to come back as fast as possible. About half way thru therapy start to cut back.... You will be amazed how well it works

16 days out and my other knee is doing all the hurting. I can't wait to get it done.

Oh I have that same teapot. I got mine at least 20 years ago and it has not a chip in it, although it's not been coddled.
