Thanks for my first belly laugh of the day! I remember wrangling with those Indians in tech support, wondering what they thought of my drawl... or 'twang', if you will.
It's a wonder you two could understand each other. :D
If the Indian you get has an incomprehensible accent, hang up and call back. Odds are you'll get a different one, and there's usually one or two in every call center who can enunciate like an American.
If you're worried about being perceived as rude, start saying "hello? hello? Dang cell phone!" before hanging up.
Or try hanging up while you're talking, which makes it seem like the connection broke accidentally.
