Thanks for trying this out & writing up your experiences. I advocate this method because of the increased exposure that your material will get on both del.icio.us and in tag searches (such as technorati) when you tag this way. I noticed a big bump in traffic pretty quickly.

There's a one-click link for your post footer that will open a del.icio.us "add" window for you. Info here:

To make the bookmarking easier, you can try the somniloquiys hack for that link. This will automatically populate the add form with the tags that you added to your post. No cutting & pasting, just one-click in del.icio.us to bookmark. Info here:

Still not working and further research at FreshBlog reveals that I have to still bookmark my post. Too much work! There are some other hacks listed at FreshBlog that might help. Stay tuned.
