Gravatar Peter, thanks for the follow-up comment. I read your 9/4 post, and I don't think we're all that far apart. I would disagree with your argument that there is "no" competition for broadband. Google thinks the entry costs are low, and not even just by Google's standards.

I also disagree that start-ups wouldn't be able to afford a higher tier -- it costs money already to get in business, and what angel investor says "here's your money for iMacs and Aerons, but, ah, can't splurge on bandwidth, sorry." Even if so, it would be one disadvantage among others, not a killer.

AT&T and HandsOff have already run newspaper ads saying they support the FCC's principles of net neutrality -- it's a new bureaucracy that's worrisome.
