I'm not a subscriber but I have my ways of testing the system. I think you have a good assessment here. Hopefully they will be fine tuning the network once it's all been built. (Check my latest blog post for when it's supposed to be done.)

Did you get the wireless service? If so how has it been for you?
I got it a few weeks ago - so far it's been a little bumpy. The throughput is highly variable, and the latency is really high. Their support is really responsive and prompt, and my throughput is now consistently ~70% of the subscribed 3Mbs. No change on the latency, which wouldn't be a big deal but I've developed a Team Fortress 2 habit and the servers all kick me off due to high latency.
I don't want to scare anyone off - I support the initiative and remain highly optimistic.

That's a good guess. Wish the Star Tribune article had clarified but news of the wireless deployment is sketchy at best.

I'm betting that the $19.95 quoted includes the $5 for the modem that you get charged -- it is optional, but they claim that they can't really guarantee the speed that you pay for without it.
