Rubber-stamped every idiotic law that's come before her; shaken hands and grinned at people, including Nicolae Ceausescu and others equally pleasant; cut the odd ribbon; acted as a "symbol of unity" where no particular unity exists; read out Government propaganda at the opening of Parliament and pious platitudes on Christmas Day; encouraged gambling by example; graciously donated her profile for the stamps; and acted as one of the various titular heads of one, some or all of the various Churches of England. Impressive.
As for the tourists - well, I would imagine most of them are interested in the palaces and so forth. I doubt if many of them come to see the old woman herself, much less her ludicrous relatives.
