If you are of an age to recall the late lamented J Peasemould Gruntfuttock, you will know that the good bishop has been hearing the same voices - 'Go forth Nazir my child and smite the sodomites.'
I am not of such an age, but somebody using that name (J Peasemould Gruntfuttock, that is, not Nazir) showed up in the comments here once.
Must have been an impostor!
Renewal without the turbulence of reform is like hanging one's used socks up overnight to air out instead of actually washing them.
On the other hand, the turbulence of renewal can lead to the laddering of doubt, down which we are tempted thanks to the loose elastic of secular morals and the running colour of multiculturalism, only to end up with the toenail of despair poking through the hosicavity of sin to the detriment of our sole.
All the more reason to go barefoot.
