Yes but we all know that electronic media cannot be counted on to retain information for long, see the White House emails scandal where 255 days worth are coincidentally beyond recovery.
Let's also not forget that these "memory sticks" hold way more information. We're talking about the difference between 1.44 MB and up to 8 GB (so far, and climbing). So now when the data is mysteriously unaccounted for, it's far more information gone! Have fun with that!
As for our American government (don't get me started), King George just burns the evidence of anything he does wrong immediately, thus absolving himself of any guilt or remorse he might once have felt.
The fact that CDs and memory sticks burn so fragrantly must add a lot to the, um, ambience at the White House.
