i am an idol fan, but our version of idol falls short of the title of the show, the contestants and the judges (except for mr. c) are a perfect formula for tv ratings blackhole
well i guess its true. i dont care much about ratings anyway. as long as my favorites are there, ill watch and vote.
im thinking (not guessing) that this is true..di hamak na mas "rational" manood ng PDA as a talent show because ang naatitira talaga ay yong mga magagaling instead of the other way around.
and ABC5 might have failed to recognize the pinoy passion for singing...we know a hit singer when we HEAR one

Actually, tumaas pa 'yan. Kasi noong sa Saturdays pa ang Performance Nights, pumapalo sa UNO ang ratings...
I mean, Ripley's Believe It or Not rates higher than PI. Nakakbuiwisit di ba?

PI has a lot of loopholes. dagdag pa jan ang pag move ng elimination sa mondays.

I'm thinking there's a big possibility that this is true. I mean, granted siguro not the exact percentage...but from where I am, lakas ng PDA over PI kasi TALENT talaga ang labanan. Mas exciting pa ang mga performance nights nila. Tapos triangulation of decision pa--di lang text votes. And I see the contestants grow each week. Sa PI parang walang improvement...lumalala pa yata yung iba. Ano ba yun?!
I was expecting that this will be a BIG hit....I don’t know if there will be a NEXT term for this show...guys start tripping your fingers now...hehehe...sana may improvement pa...
she's just plain too old to be a judge in a contest like this. a lot of viewers wouldn't be able to relate to her conservative, if not narrow-minded, comments. i for one am not sure if she's able to appreciate non-traditional music genres of today. no, she can't be compared to paula abdul 'coz paula is generally well-loved among AI viewers and contestants.

that's most likely true. a lot of pi observers watch it on youtbe to skip unnecessary parts, like ryan's cold and awkward hosting, for one. "the masa" is not a crowd of american idol fans. mostly kabataan 'yun. some tv viewers are loyalists to 7 and 2; they couldn't care less what abc 5 is showing. kaya dapat, magsumikap pa marketing dept ng abc 5. saka ayusin ang stage. saka kausapin si mamita na magbigay ng matinong comments. saka pabotohin ang tao sa toll-free lines. otherwise, magiging napaka ironic na hindi kilala ng buong bayan ang tataguriang philippine idol.
Dude.... the ratings are what it is, because you've got 4 guys there who are just BAAAAAAD performers. Plus the really good ones were taken out early on the show--Stef, Drae, Raymond... And now, they try to get things right by putting a 2 hour limit to voting? After letting go of the better performers?! C'mon people... wake up and smell the coffee, DUDE!
kahit na ano pang numbers ang ibigay ng ratings, sa tingin ko ay ganon pa rin ang ranking ng mga shows: pda, daddydidodu (don't know the real spelling) fighting for the first spot, then philippine idol at last. bihasa na abs sa mga pa-singing contest na yan. i didn't like their previous singing contests because they were american idol rip-offs. pda is different.
i was able to watch a pda performance night (probation or expulsion night, as they would call it) tuluy-tuloy, pati commercials simot. sunud-sunod yung performances, at sunud-sunod yung juror's comments. bonggang hosts pa na si nikki at toni. the problem with pi is that their show is too long (more than two hours) and boring, add to that the uninteresting judges' comments and as lhen mentioned, ryan's cold and awkward hosting. i had to switch channels kasi paulit-ulit na lang na wow magic sing, smart at san miguel products ang commercials. one reason, besides power-voting, why the great singers get the boot is because they perform last. dahil bagot na bagot na yung mga nanonood sa boring performances ng ibang contestants ay hindi na sila nagba-bother na balikan ang channel 5. then, the voters end up not voting the good performance, because they were too tired to see it. notice that this happened to drae, bonggang, jumping, "i felt God's burning love" performance, yet he got the ouster. haay.
ayan, kinarir ko na ang komento ko nang mamulat na sa katotohanan ang lahat ng nasasangkot sa abc 5 at pi. i watch pda because i can at may manok ako ron, and i watch pi because i got interested in watching idols franchise over youtube months before pi came out. kahit na ganyan ang nangyayari, nanood pa rin ako. i still
