Gravatar Excellent! I totally agree... Fortunately some people who deal with issues like sexual sin in men's lives (take, for example, the program on http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com) have fortunately started to put this into action. The problem cannot be fixed by stopping the symptoms. That's like taking cold "medicines" like Nyquil: they only fix symptoms, not the problem. The problem is a virus that can't be stopped by any medicine (unfortunately, it can only be stopped by the body fighting back so the analogy ends at this point, lol.) The "virus" in our case is our sin nature, which is discarded in the atonement of Christ for the elect, which means that we have to constantly finding our joy in him instead of in the symptoms.

Gravatar John,

Completely agree...well except for that whole 'Jesus dying only for the elect part.'But otherwise, you're spot on! :D

See my links here (http://del.icio.us/philthreeten/Reforming?page=2) for my thoughts on election.

Gravatar you're right on the money. addressing the issue of looking at women is certainly a good and necessary thing. however to leave it at that and not go beyond it, to the storm of sinful desires which wages war against our souls is tempting trouble. like owen said, "be killing sin, or it will be killing you". to say to yourself, 'i'm ok because i didn't look twice' is folly in that you dodged the arrow aimed at your heart only to have stepped in the bear trap.
