Andy, Re: haloscan, it is the lesser of two evils for my current blogging software. Ie Haloscan or nothing! To be honest, from an admin point of view, I have everything I could need at my fingertips to deal with comments, co-comments, trackbacks etc, but from a visitor's point of view it isnt integrated.

Maybe it is me, but if people can't quickly see the beginnings or direction of a conversation going on, I think they tend to ignore the comments all together. That barrier to entry sort of negates all the good bits of a technically good service! Does that help at all? Oh yeah, and I pay $12 a year for the pleasure too, i think.
