She is far too kind to let that go public.

Thanks for the mention again. I'm getting a lot of hits on my Celeb blog but it comes in spikes. Yesterday I had 1221 hits but last Wednesday it was down to 168.
I'm just concentrating on the popular (hot) stuff. It's not necessarily what I want to write about but I'm taking the 'easy' route. It puzzles me, but people are interested in so called celebrities.
One of the UK tabloid newspapers has front page news today (big banner headlines) of what's happening on a reality TV program.
Lots of important stuff going on in the world but a newspaper runs a story about what a poorly educated girl in a TV prog has supposedly said. Most odd.
I'm beginning to ramble - sorry!
I love most of the stuff that you post. I'm sure you'll get to wherever you want to be.
Best wishes,
Mike.

That's interesting to hear, Mike. Friday must be the day for hot gossip, and Saturday is for ramblers.
Is morale in the UK really low? There has to be a reason why that sort of dross is keeping the populace occupied.
I will definitely be following your blog however as some of the stories revive some tidbits of UK trivia.
cheers
Ed

You should try porn. That should drive your traffic up or down depending.
You're welcome. I'll send you a bill for that helpful hint.

The check is in the post, thanks. I will try introducing Ed's Steamy Corner to appear just before Ed's Blog spot. Wonder what that will do for the blog (or more worryingly, for me)

A friend of mine who has been on the net a long time told me "Just be passionate about what you do and the rest will come".
Your blog is Great Ed...although a few celeb bikinis would be nice. lol

I guess my question here is are you after quality content or are you just trying to build numbers?
Not to sound like a bad outtake from "Field of Dreams" but if you write (well) they will come.
I mean, really, do you want people to come to your blog in droves to read about the latest adventures of Paris Hilton or Britney Spears or are you looking for a slightly more "elite" clientèle? There are lots of "fluff & stuff" blogs out there but The Pisstakers isn't about that.
RIGHT???

A ... 'slightly more "elite" clientèle?' No, I'd better not say what I'm thinking!

Thanks for making me think so early, Linda.
I agree with what you and Wolfbernz say about a mix of good writing, passion and time will win through in the end. And I am all for steady organic growth, so you grow into your boots at a comfortable pace. And that is definitely happening at the pisstakers.
But yes and no, in no particular order, to the idea of quality, droves and elite.
Ultimately I would like to have droves who want their pisstaker funny bone tickled, but I dont have to go tacky to get there
And I think elite should apply to the writing first, and perhaps "sophisticated" to the readership? Judging by the millions who watch and even get their news from The Daily Show, and judging by the clever writing, (even moreso from Colbert) I presume there are a lot of clever people out there watching and picking up on classy satirical humor. And those guys cover all sorts of content from serious political issues right through the spectrum to bald bad britney.
I am not a Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert but if the writer / writing here is good enough then why not have a blast with Britney's woes now and again and jump the traffic up to a more "viral" level. The celeb stuff is only fluff if there is nothing new to add. And in fact, the more celeb columns I read, the more evident that there is very little competition for smart celeb bashing, I mean writing.
But dont worry, I am not going to rehash the gossip columns, and if the droves come, I will still answer the comments :)
PS, Mike, anyone in a suit is elite in my book!

Well answered, Mr. Ed, and I like that you compared your writing to the same style as a Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert - both of whom I find to be very, very funny. Granted, you are humble enough to state that you are neither one of those two gentlemen but I think that you have the potential to be.
In rereading your blog title, it does say "On a web search for the funny stuff in life" so if you think that any of the airheads, nay celebrities, in Hollywood qualify then I say lampoon away and have a good time while you're at it! But in the meantime, don't lose track of what you've got going here which I, personally, think is shaping up to be a very good thing.
Rome wasn't built in a day - nor did it burn in a day if I remember my history correctly - and to throw out another clichéd and hackneyed line - slow and steady wins the race! Translated I guess that means I am counciling patience!
And as you can tell by today's overabundance of words, I have had WAY too much coffee!

Thanks for the compliment Linda and I will do my best to perfect my writing of the funny stuff.
As I have had no coffee at all, that is all I am able to say at the moment :) cheers
