Thanks for that ham, the memory in particular.
I suppose only half believed it when I saw it marked as ating lake on the map so it was good to hear it confirmed by the two guys and now you too.
Personally, I'd like for it to go back about five years when it was still apond but definetly a wildlife one rather than a boating lake... now I suspect it will gone altogether within a short while and I'll miss my dragon friends
These sites need to be actively mamanged to stay the same though.

OK, daft question time - what do Dragonflies do when Autumn comes? Hibernate? Expire? Fly south for a warm-up on the Cote d'Azur?

Sadly Gavin they die.
They're only on the wing for a very short part of their life.. many a few weeks and at most a few months. Most of their life (a few months to a couple of years) is spent in their sub-aqua larval form in the ponds that may no longer be there for them to lay their own eggs in.
