You would think he did something terrible to this country. Something really awful, like outing a CIA agent, or manufacturing intelligence to get us into a war, or firing federal prosecutors for political purposes, hiding executive branch email communications and destroying them, suspending the writ of habeas corpus, illegal spying on Americans without oversight, or other crimes against the constitution.
