my walter story
when i started work right out of college - at CBS, i worked for As the World Turns as a "unit manager" - which meant i paid the bills for all the stuff they bought for the sets (fancy huh?). since there was no room on the set for me to sit, they plopped me in the News Dept, 3 doors down from Walter
one day he introduced himself, said i was sitting in his old editors office and he took me on a tour of the newsroom - he knew as much about the production stuff as he did about journalism. i was impressed. one day soon after he bought me a burger at the cafeteria and always remembered my name. class act
