Happy New Year! Dorset looks lovely - and thanks for pointing the way to some Donegal Tweed - I'm thinking perhaps the Owl pattern soon to be released by Kate of the Needled blog...

There are so many lovely photos I don't know where to start. I think the bags are especially cute.

I love that area of Dorset - you have taken some great photos of it. Also your little bags are adorable! I'll have to try out the pattern.

I love the bags. I received a sewing machine for Christmas and have no idea where to start, so thanks for the cube link!

Dorset is really lovely. Your posting allowed me to feel like I was on vacation too. Those bags will come in so handy with your future knitting projects. Fun and colorful.

Love the bright cheery colours on the bags. Sigh; I really should get around to doing something with that fabric I bought last spring.

Dorset is one of my favourite places in this country - your Lulworth and Wool photos are great, and yes, I would like to live in that cottage!
Love the bags too!

How cute are you! Lurrrrve your Gretel.
Agreed that your Dorset pics are simply beautiful - really enjoyed.
Major get-off-my-duff inspiration delivered here on the WIP bags. I recently broke down and bought something similar (on the cheap) because the zip on my previous little carrier had gone kaput (probably because I also bought that on the cheap). But oh to make it myself! I can sew a zipper - I should just go for it and create my own: a sturdy, colorful, fabulous little number that won't fail me.

Oh Happy New Year to you! I think you and gretel are going to be the best of girl friends. You are so cute together.
And Dorset looks so dreamy. What a great way to end 2008.

Dorset looks amazing - I saw a very similar rock archway when I was in Devon last summer.
Your hat turned out beautifully!
Happy new year!

Hey - great Gretel, it's so cute. I can't believe you went to Wool, I want to go there too! Thanks for linking the tutorial for the bags, I may make some myself!

I love your Gretel and I am very inspired by your knitting-project bags; they are really cute and practical. I like the potential they offer for effortless portability; like you can just pluck them from the shelf when you are on your way out and everything for the project will be right there.
I bet the square shape protects the knitting really well, too.
Wool seems like a totally great place to visit.

Jane! What a great post. I can't believe my last one is about sprout soup, but I can barely bring myself to knit these days, let alone blog about my lack of progress! It is very sad.
How were the exams? I confess I actually saw you across the crowd of heads, but I was elbowing my way to the loo, and you were looking in a book with Felicity, and I thought, eep. And then I (by a hair's breadth!) made it into the top quartile. I am in shock! And celebrated by buying a coat I really can't afford. I am blaming it on cerebral hypoperfusion and near-miss cardiac failure brought on by the above result.
Anyway, spring is about to turn (I hope; apparently chickens are laying on a boy-in-my-firm's ex-girlfriend's parents' farm, and who can quarrel with the chicken barometer?) so I think we should meet up! - and knit (you) and drink tea (us) and generally put the world to rights. How are you placed for the next few Wednesday afternoons? xxxx
