Gravatar When my students were done testing and waiting for others, they simply read books, drew pictures, or colored. Keep in mind that I had third graders. When there were group times between tests, we simply did relaxing, fun games - some academic, some not.

Gravatar This won't help you for this year, but maybe next. At my school we spend 6 days testing over 8 entire days. We don't want homework, and different grades have a different number of sessions. We have to teach every MS student health. So a few years ago we designed our health curriculum to be taught during this "downtime." It gives kids something tangible to do. It gives the staff something tangible to do. We also schedule a number of health assemblies, speakers, etc.

Gravatar I have 9th and 10th graders so we usually tell the kids to bring a book to read. I also have Time and Newsweek Mags to keep them occupied.

I will also photocopy Soduku and crossword puzzles. Word searches also work.
