Number one gets my vote. in a way the others can be explained away by others choices or the fact that they are a not part of the family.
Of course to be really fair it depends on how long this has gone on and his chances of dying at this particular time. Even so not a call i would have made.

Channel ten should have just over ruled the family, what they are doing is trying to get ratings out of this, morally bankrupt is what they are.
I mean when you think about it, a dying man's last wish is all well and good, as long as it's reasonable. If he wanted everyone to stand on their heads at the funeral, would they.
This is the reason i don't watch that show and don't care for it, it's a waste of time and space.

Im inclined to agree. A man's death is wonderful ratings for Channel Ten. Pure and simple.
It's such a contemptible show. When people finally realise that the entire show is scripted and there is nothing 'reality' about it anymore, hopefull they will switch off.
But as it is, this program is a great advert for doing away with the concept of 'one man one vote'.

Sometimes, there are simply no words. I'd say something about the collapse of standards of propriety and the disappearance of intergenerational loyalties, but why bother? Who would be listening, other than persons who already agree?

Clearly pommygranate is just trying to increase the ratings of his blog by featuring a picture of an attractive young female.
In terms of the subject matter in question I think the family has shown a mature attitude towards death (ie life goes on) and a naive attitude towards public relations (ie the public thinks they own everybody on TV).
Out of interest what is the correct amount of time for a person to grieve? Is it one day, one week, one month, one year or one decade? Who sets such rules and who decides when you have grieved enough to prove that you really did love them?

I don't just post pictures of thin models. See the discrimination story below. No discrimination here.
Welcome back to my blog btw. I thought youd lost the address.

I did see the larger lady (she is inappropriately dressed to be a child care worker). However I note that the ALS ratings started on the 24th of May and the all the women that you have featured since then have been slim. Clearly you are trying to manipulate the judges. :-D

It is pathetic- my father died recently and the thing is that until it happens you don't know how you will react. You really don't and it maybe that she regrets for the rest of her life not being there at the funeral. She ought to have been told and she ought to have been told in private and let out if she wished to be let out.

I vote for all four, although my family is sucked in by some of the other reality type shows. Personally I cannot abide them. Thank goodness there is blogging.

GRacchi - that's my feeling too. How on earth does one know how you will react to such a huge event. They should have overruled the family.

Theo - i heard about that. I am wondering how low this genre can stoop. Celebrity Fight To the Death? After all, it would make great telly.

With the start of a new Big Brother this week, Channel 4 is having to broadcast apolgies before each showing, for televising the racist abuse suffered by Shilpa in the last celebrity series. Your show could be heading the same way.
You have to wonder at the mindset of a person who would go into the Big Brother house knowing that her father is close to death. Actually you have to wonder at the mindset of a person going into the Big Brother house.

Liz - i hear that Ch 4 ended up cutting most of the severe racist stuff anyway.
You have to wonder at the mindset of a person who would go into the Big Brother house knowing that her father is close to death.
You really do, dont you. I have subsequently discovered that Emma had a boob job before going into the house, in preparation for a Zoo centrefold spread. Far more important, obviously, than spending time with her dying father.
