Gravatar Good to have you back poms... you point out a depressing trend, and I don't see any end to it.

Unfortunately, Australia is following suit.

Gravatar fleeced

i find it curious that so many Oz libertarians, like Jason for instance, see no issues here.

strange.

Gravatar Pommy,

As I keep saying - the rubber band is being wound up by Europe's idiotic cultural relativists and Muslim advocates. When it breaks the backlash will be violence. There's a reason the BNP and Vlaams Belang are increasing in popularity.

Gravatar that's not the route to go down though Jack. They are not the sort of people you want round your house for a cup of tea.

Gravatar Poms,

I agree... it's the old "tolerance of intolerance" angle, I guess. In truth, I DO tolerate intolerant views (the teacher has a right to say whatever crazy stuff he wants) - but freedom doesn't mean freedom from consequences - and the school is quite within their rights to sack (for whatever reason they want, imo)

The concept of freedom has become so bastardised, that it means something different now. We need a different word (liberty?)

When people talk of rights these days, they speak in terms of what other people have to give them (eg, the right to not be vilified, the right to free education, etc).
