Onya Pommy
I thought that the test was really exciting and watched the last hour with similar thoughts to the Saturday of the Adelaide Test last year (there is never going to be a result). I agree with you on Peter Roebuck. All my colleagues care about for Aussie cricket is just win baby. All the other stuff is unimportant. That said, I do think that it is a bit precious of the Aussies to get bent out of shape about sledging. They are after all the world leaders in this field.
Happy New Year and hope all is well with you and your family. I am sad about all the Blogpower stuff. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Are you planning to blog more regularly.
All the best and on to Perth. Our company has tickets for the Adelaide Test, so looking forward to that. That was one of the greatest days, not for the cricket per se, last year being with all the English fans at Adelaide Oval. It made me strangely nostalgic.

A Scot nostalgic for the English?
I haven't kept up to speed with the BP stuff, but it seems very sad. Still, it sounds like it is moving on already.

Yo pomegranate. What the fuck is up with this " I can throw a small ball to three sticks in the ground shit. while your buddies at Thoughts on Freedom are covering relevant shit.
Now I like a great game of hockey and would stand out in -40 to watch a game but what has a game in ANY part of the world have to do with you last posts at T of F and why are you not passing on the relevant information about Ezra's plight in Alberta.
I maybe at the opposite end of the world but I am on the same plane as everyone......Get the message out buddy, before it's to late and you in the land of Down Under become entrapped in what we are fighting.
As we say in Canada: Snooze you loose
or from my army days: "A bullet has only one path. On Target fire for Effect

I strayed across your blog, read a few articles and bookmarked it.
I spent 11 years in Sydney and got bored.
I am fascinated to read about your feelings towards the place. Particularly as you lived in the US where I would rather be. Especially as it's blowing a gale here in Sussex and I'm wearing wellies.
And on topic, Roebuck is such a twat and he makes me cringe. I assume you know why he lives in Oz. Spanking boys and all that?
Good writing. I'm off to read more.
Good luck!

Pommy, thanks for the reply.
I've still got my Oz passport for when I really get fed up here! It's still blowing a gale a few days later.
Have you got your citizenship yet? Highly recommended. You get a rather nice tree at the ceremony which sadly dies the minute you get it home.
BTW, I too am a Libertarian. Never met another one when I lived over there. Maybe I was in the wrong circles.
