just reading this thread alone clearly says it all about Australians, the weight of being inferior,powerless in the world scene has clearly taken its toll, no one in England ever thinks or talks about Australians because no one cares or takes any interest in you, apart from all the money grabbing Australians in London there aren't any anywhere else in the country, that is because they are to ignorant to look past their greedy noses to have a look.
Australians only take so much time being racist and derogatory about the English because they feel totally inferior to them, they cant deal with it so in a true un-educated fashion they resort to foul and abusive insults as it the only way their ego's can get a fix.
if only they knew how unimportant in every walk of life to anyone else in the world Australia actually is.
this is why they attach so much importance to sport because there is literally nothing else to discuss and in reality apart from cricket (which incidentally in England is mainly a middle upper class sport) and 1 ex swimmer they have nothing else to open their mouths about.
the true irony about the whole pom thing is indeed that they are even foolish enough to call us the very acronym that was used for them to be ejected from the country that is their motherland.
I also find expressions such as soap dodgers really amusing as in all my travels round the globe I truly believe more Australians have b.o problems than any other, I cant ever remember walking down the street in England and regularly smelling someone so bad its turns you're head than in Australia.
the main problem with Australians and the same with Americans is , the ones that are the most racist and discriminative are the ones that have never even left the remote lump of sand and rock once in their lives, they are narrow minded and have no comprehension of what is happening outside of the gabba.apart from the ones who leave to earn real money not toytown money rarely return as they see that they really are backward in their views and general trade/industry. they to be fair are usually nice people.
this is a country belittling a nation that has ruled the world and even now is a world super power not just a country that bullies small remote countries out of its oil (east Timor)aussies should stick to what they are best at i.e. bullying minor countries and stealing their natural resources and being 1st class racist bigots. they are also very good at treating indigenous people like wild animals.
Did you know Oxfam this year entered Australia to set up relief aid in 2 areas of the country because a UN report showed that these aboriginal people were being left to starve in the very country that belongs to them.to quote the report " it is amongst the worst areas I have ever visited in the world".
Oxfam is an aid agency that gives support to 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES. everyone in Australia should be appalled and hang their heads indisgust that their own so called affluent country stands by and watches Oxfam clean up their dirty work.
this is a country that as much as Australians hate it is still ruled by the British empire sovereignty of the her majesty the queen not some outback scrubber who married her way into a Danish playboy.
only when Australia deals with its inferiority will it progress. on the world scene you are a very very innocuous waste of space so rather than pick on the very nation that invented /owns and still rules you're nation, try to go to school get an education learn to write without using racist slurs and look further than who can hit a piece of leather furthest for the longest

In my humble opinion, whilst there are Aussies who genuinely hate the English, these tend to be the sort who hate all foreigners. And hence, well, who gives a shit what they think.
The overwhelming majority use the word 'Pom' in a friendly manner.
yes I lived there for 4 years, I left because I couldn't bare the stupidity and backwardness.
I couldn't believe when I got there the severity of the pom thing its not even aimed at the uk it just the English even though it was the British empire that formed you, you still hold the English so its nothing more than jealousy due to the same reason the Scottish and welsh dislike us, in fact they are no where near as bad as you.
I couldn't believe how many times a day/week in both work/sport/leisure it cropped up,its permanently on you're tiny minds. it totally amazed me that you spend so much time trying to get one up on us to the point where " vegemite is better than marmite" what the hell? its very very sad and shallow people in England and believe me on this never ever talk about austrlai or its occupants, this is because we don't have a chip on our shoulders about you, infact I distinctly remember saying to my girlfriend "can you ever in you're life remember a conversation about slagging off Australia?" no was the answer the same as everyone else I asked so as you can see its not reciprocal ( you may have to use a dictionary for this one)

I lived in England for 8 years and I read untold number of articles exactly the same as the above. They usually claim they are ambivilant to the Aussies but them the whole article is usually full of extreme slander about Australia (while mentioning that they never think of us and that we are all ignorant, racist and have never discussed the plight of aboriginals).
We all know that crowing over winning more medals at the beijing olympics than us, giving their once in a life time cricketers royal awards and devoting countless newspaper columns to our utter ignorance, belies the statement that they do not care what we think. So here's some news for you....we like you....mostly....we are just like the scottish, irish and welsh in that we do not like the arrogant englishmen, but we have a lot of time for the normal englishmen (and women).
