Unfortunately - because it has done a lot of good work over the years - Amnesty International lost all credibility some time ago i.e. after it surrendered to PC, so as to put democratic, law-based government on a par with murdering, thieving, dictatorial governments.
Yes, I was really surprised by her tone in an official organization but then again - look at her name.

Amnesty has totally lost sight of its origins. It was once an effective voice for "prisoners of conscience". Now it is nothing but a left wing lobby group.
An Amnesty friend of mine, 20 years ago said that she hated it when "we" criticise Socialist States, but we have to do it sometimes to protect the illusion of balance. Surely it always was a commie front?

Originally its emphasis was very much on Soviet prisoners of conscience. It might well have been a CIA front!
Can you point to a single assertion made by Amnesty about the Australian government which isn't, well, true? If not, then surely they're doing exactly the right thing...
Its not the only once noble institution which has lost its gloss.
The Anti Deformation League has become a joke too.
I think the problem is that their principles always were too easily exploited and somewhat naieve.

Yes - they are right to expose some of the failings of the Howard administration but now no-one will listen. they're too busy laughing.
