Unbelievable!

Gravatar You are absolutely right that Muslims and Mormons are similar. A family friend who is Muslim married a guy who was Mormon and converted to Islam. That was the most dull, dry wedding I have ever been to. My cousin, who was raised Muslim, married a Mormon woman (and their kids are raised as Mormons). No real clashes between the two in faith or values.

That said, Islamic scholars do not have to bend to uphold Mohammed as the final prophet of god. That's what the Quran says. No real Muslim denies the power and sanctity of Jesus. That is also a part of the Quran. Notwithstanding this guy's book, a Muslim does not have to choose between the two.

Gravatar Muslims say that Jesus was just another prophet and was not the Son of God.

The quotes you gave seem to acknowledge the statements in the Quran as to the accuracy of the existance of Jesus, but don't come right out and say he was devine.

"Alla Akbar" when used in connection with comparing the Jews and Christian concepts of God to those of Islam, means that their "God is greater."

Most Christians believe in the New Testament where the Muslims do not.

The fact that the Muslims do not believe in Jesus as devine makes all other comparisons to any other form of Christianity moot.

Muslims are not Christians, period. Muslims believe in "Forced Religion", where this is in direct contridiction of the "Golden Rule."

Most all if not all Christian Religions that I have researched believe that "God will force no one into heaven."

Again, Muslims believe in Force. Christians don't. Shria is a forced adherance to religious rule. Christians believe that when Jesus was on earth, he forced no one to obey his laws. They could join or not.

FAR.

Gravatar What do you mean they believe in "forced religion"? Wasn't the inquisition "forced religion"?

I will bet that for every passage in the Quran that talks about spreading the word, you will find just as many in the Bible. The Sharia is much more than the Quran and the "much more" part depends on which school of Islamic jurisprudence is followed.

Gravatar ii,

The inquisition was charged with judging heresy.

Heresy was meant to address those who were saying falsehoods against the church or God.

You could not belong to the Church and not get brought before the inquisition as long as you didn't say things that were inciteful or against the Church.

The Wahabists want to kill everyone that does not join their church. No exceptions.

Gravatar Just the Wahabis right? Your initial post gave the impression you meant Islam as a whole was a forced religion.

Gravatar My mistake, just Wahabis is what I should have said.

In lawyer vernacular..."I misspoke"

Gravatar Not bad and there are too many similarities to count. The black with white font is a little hard to read. I suggest changing the font to yellow or making the font bigger for my old eyes. Have a nice day

Gravatar Possum,

You said: "There are no consistencies in my Bible regarding Jesus."

I think you meant "no IN-consistencies."

Gravatar LOL! thanks FAR, I get hung up in typing what's coming off my brain and mis type sometimes... thanks!

As for Dina's comment on upholding Mohammed: the question isn't the instruction to uphold, it is who is held higher accordig to THEIR TEXT? Do I sit here and create 45 reasons why Reagan is better and 12 reasons why W is better and then assert that W is the better president? Abraham and his descandants looked for the virgin birth as a sign from God of his coming.

Sorry to Tex, my html is TERRIBLE (or else I wouldn't still be using Blogger-generic) but I'll try to at least bold it for you.

Gravatar As for the similarities between Mormons and Muslims: it's because of the source.

Paul warned "Do not accept false teachings even if from an angel of light" (Galatians 1:. Yet BOTH of these religions are based in ONE INDIVIDUAL having a divine encounter with a "BEING OF LIGHT" who directed them to a "true teaching."

Consider the shared roots of these 3 religions in the Old Testament. When you break out the differences and analyize the similarities as a Christian you must take these religions to be inspired by an anti-God force aka the Devil or Satan.
