Putting aside the personal insults of Dean, are there no comments he made that have substance? Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Gravatar I like that saying. It is profound.

I'm actually beginning to think that Dean is so broken that his clock hands have fallen off!

You might also know the "search" is a stack of computers crunching through communication for certain criteria. Only information meeting that criteria is used.

Again, I assert that the gov'mint is not efficent enough to watch all of us or to be worthy of fearing in this regard unless you are up to something you shouldn't be!

Did you read that court case I cited before???? Any thoughts???

Good to see you again II!

Gravatar Which court case?

I am hesitant to be back, but I must admit that I enjoy our exchanges. For as much as I disagree with you on pretty much EVERYTHING, you present cogent arguments and that is worthy of respect.

All your Islam-bashing puts me off a bit, however, and I will proceed with caution. Although I am pretty much an atheist, it's difficult for me to stomach your attacks on the beliefs of people who are important to me and who are very good people. Even if Islam is from Satan and all that hooha, there are Muslims who have good souls and have found contentment through its teachings. Even if you think Hinduism is a lie, you must admit that Gandhi was an inspiration to the world. But I digress.

About the wiretapping, the principle that it's okay if you have nothing to hide is a slippery slope. If that's the logic that wins the day, the 4th Amendment becomes moot and that's unacceptable.

Gravatar I would like to point out the principle that a President can overrule any legislation (including the Constitution) during a time of war, as long as it's done in the name of fighting the war, is worse than a slippery slope. It's more like jumping off a cliff.

Gravatar Well said Meg.

Lincoln & Roosevelt:
War time presidents who executed orders outside or against the constitution.
Bush is in good company.

The law link is in my archives...
I'll try to find it and post it again.
It basically lines out the decisions and duality/difference between security and safety and criminal prosecution information.

II:

I'm not intentionally bashing Muslims. I do go after uncivilized behavior but love the individual. That statement takes on a whole new respect to a parent like me. You truly understand the teaching of "love the sinner, hate the sin" when your 3 year old shoots off at the mouth. Try to keep that in perspective.

My other point is based in logic of what I see and know: Islam pays enough lip service to Jesus for those who worship Allah should look more closely at what is actually said about Jesus and compare it against Muhammed. Once that comparison is finished, the question becomes can Jesus be denied?

More importantly: do Quoranic prophets say things that should be denied? IF so, are they a real prophet? Jesus flat out admitted to being the living embodiment of God in man and that "no one shall come to the Father except through ME."

That's hard to twist in any way, shape or form. I have yet to see a Muslim (or a Mormon) explain it differently in a logical sense.
