I've seen similar pics of Israeli Brooklyn-imported settlers' kids holding weapons. I've seen gun-nut magazines all over Middle America with pictures of kids holding guns. Are you suggesting that one culture promotes violence and another doesn't because you aren't going to get very far with that one.
In my parents' home country, which is Muslim, I have never seen movies or listened to music that even comes close to comparing to the violence that Americans find so entertaining.
The wingers whine incessantly about how immoral America is and how we desperately need bible study and ten commandments plaques before we go off the fiery moral deep end, but then hurl righteous indignation at others as if America is holy and innocent. You can't have it both ways.

In hindsight that is a perfectly reasonable comment.
Specific to the intent of the author when ranting that comment is not what I wanted readers to come away with. This is:
I am ranting against a hollywood star saying peace in Palestine is just as easy as breathing. Her comment was possibly ignorant but likely stupid because she fails to see the depths of hatred between both sides.
While I am not aware of the Jewish side of the Palestine argument teaching their children hate, the same cannot be said for the opposing side. When you have ingrained hatred from childhood it makes peace and chage a generational process rather than one of "taking a breath".
If any intended underlying thought went into this it was more of the "ignorant liberal hollywood and why does anyone listen to their rubbish" than anything anti-muslim.
I will say thank you for asking what you did because next time I'll make sure to spell that out better so that the communication won't be lost in traslation.

It is a shame that hatred is ingrained so deeply from birth. You must acknowledge, however, that hatred is on both sides and you can't fight hatred with hatred. MLK is the best example of that.

You are very correct about MLK.
I think I would find it hard to love those who are bent on killing me. While not all Paestinians fit this "stereotype" enough do and act on it that it matters to those on the other side of the border. If those Palestinians who are against the killing of Jews would stand up against the radicals, that would change things.
I believe the Jews would like nothing better than to not feel compelled to rocket attack for retaliation after a suicide bomber.

You really think all Jews want peace? Have you ever heard the rhetoric that comes from the settlers? You have a very one-sided picture of the conflict as if there is only violence and hatred on one side and that simply is not the case.
The Israelis need the Palestinian conflict in the same way GW needs Al Qaeda. The moment they lose the external enemy, the internal divisions will consume them. I would bet money that if Israel ever got real peace with the Palestinians, it would fall into a civil war within 10 years of it. The Palestinians do them an enormous favor on many front. Indeed, it is Israel that helped found Hamas.
