Because the politicians we elect are morons who are more interested in getting re-elected each term than doing that which is mandated by the constitution. Not a single politician today could possibly stand beside the likes of Washington, Hamilton, Franklin, Jefferson, etc. and be compared to any of them intellectually or being go committed to the ideals of a representative form of government where the elected people actually listen to their constituents and do what the constituents tell them to do. And, when the idiot politicians of today do hold a "town hall meeting" they don't like what they hear so they attack their own constituents. Tell all the so called politicians to go read basic documents on represetative government and the US constitution like the Federalist Papers or the writings of Hamilton, Jefferson, Payne, etc.
