It would be interesting to know where this $29.7 Billion for bonuses is coming from.
Likely it is the profits resulting from the FED loaning money to these banks at .025% per year and the banks then loaning that money to Americans at 5% for mortgages or up to 29.99% for credit card debt.
With that kind of a profit margin, the amounts of money involved, and the current lack of additional places to loan all that money, why shouldn't the banks give it as a reward for their employes?
The banks are just doing their share to get the economy moving again by providing funds for their employes to spend.
