fed policy is clearly restrictive if one looks at the real fed funds rate. why on earth should the fed raise rates more when core CPI is 1.9% YOY???? To make permabears happy who are trying to get rich by shorting stocks in the twisted hope of a global depression?
i will never understand that strange mentality of wishing and hoping for economic catastrophe, and then whining when the fed doesn't oblige and make a foolish error of raising already restrictive rates to bring it about. if anything the fed ought to be cutting rates now with inflation well below it's historical norm and dangerously close to turning into deflation if the economy slows further.
