Willie "Boom and Bust" Parker should be good for an 80 or so yard run. We were all waiting for him to break one on Sunday, but he never quite got it.

This works better if the Chargers had shown up Sunday.
But if their next four alphabetical order opponents can take them down twice, it will make up for SD. That would be Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Dallas.
BTW, I just noticed that the Steelers get them after a short week (Monday @BAL).

Faux question of the day: Granted he inherited a team with lots of talent, but to this point (a whopping two games) Tomlin has impressed everyone with his smarts, how he's had the team prepared both weeks, he had a great draft, etc.
Do you think he'll end up having a better track record than Cowher in the playoffs? Though we did end up winning that fifth super bowl, for the most part Cowher's teams were always disapointing come January.

Oh, and last night someone (Kornheiser?) had the funniest line ever: Broncos are 2-0...49ers are 2-0...OJ Simpson's in jail...it's like we're back in the 90s.

Jesse,
I suspect Tomlin will have better playoff success than Cowher. I think that because I believe the Steelers could never advance in the playoffs because they had average QBs at best. Tomlin has Roethlisberger, Cowher had Maddux, Stewart, O'Donnell and Baby Ben.
Cowher consistently fielded very good teams, a testament to his good coaching. If he had had Brady or Manning etc., I think the Steelers would have at least one more Lombardi trophy.

Say what you will about Maddox, Stewart and O'Donnell, but Baby Ben was 5/6 for Cowher. It would be a gutsy man who predicts that Tomlin's Ben will do better.

Cowher probably doesn't get enough credit for being able to win with the QBs he had.

I took Eric's comment to mean that Tomlin will (hopefully) have Ben for more years than Cowher did. And that should help Tomlin in the post-season. I doubt the Steelers would have won it all in 2005 with any of those other QBs.
Living up to Cowher's regular season record will be very hard. If he does, though, equaling or bettering Cowher's post-season record seems entirely plausible.

Steeler_Shams: Is Tomlin aware that he needs to lower Willie's workload? At this rate, he will tire out.
Ed Bouchette: He said today he will run Parker until the wheels fall off.

Eddie B seems to be getting the hang of answering these chat questions:
DCP: Since we are still before the trade deadline, is there anyway we could trade McBeam for Sir Purr and a Carolina cheerleader to be named later?
Ed Bouchette: I have a better idea. There are 3 real good rivers right outside Heinz Field for ways to deal with the McBeam character.

So the allegations against the Pats never stop. Add number 9 to the list, from Easterbrook / TQM:
"Andrea Kremer of NBC reported that several teams might charge the Patriots this week with having stolen playbooks from the visitors' dressing room."

Running plays on second-and-1, second-and-1, second-and-2, third-and-1, third-and-2, fourth-and-2 and fourth-and-2, the Bills gained a combined zero yards.

For sentimental reasons, I'd love to see Andre back in the fold. Of course, it says something when you can't get on the field in that defense.

Getting back to the Eddie B. comment, I say that on our way to Arizona (preferably the second trip), we should put some shovels in the team bus and suddenly misplace Mr. McBeam, ala "Casino".

TMQ`s analysis of the Pats beatdown of the Chargers was beautiful. The play of the secondary of the Bolts was pathetic and head scratchingly strange. It's also strange how impassive Norv Turner looked for most of the game. There is laid back..and then there is comatose.
I heartily agree that we can now be included amongst the troika of AFC best after 2 weeks of festivities. Oh joy!
I was really happy about G. Russell making the team but realize now that he is going to have his civvies on for most of the year. Unless Willie's wheels fall off.
Is it time for McFadden to start yet? I think its getting close.
