Gravatar Lindsey also wrote an even worse poem about the 100-yard dash. Both of his track and field poems appeared in his collection of poetry, "Apples of Istakhar" (1895). He followed up with a couple of volumes of track and field short stories that were somewhat more readable than his poetry. Lindsey was a self-made man who acquired a fortune in the arms industry, and then spent the rest of his life pursuing "art".
