What about doing harder math problems, does this exercise the brain in the same way but even more effectively? I'm wondering if it would be best to do both the simple equations AND some much more advanced math or logic problems to get the best daily brain workouts? |
|
Apparently, doing single hard math problems actually uses LESS of your brain, it uses only a very specific and smalll area, compared to doing the fast simple math equations. I thought that was pretty interesting, and I'm not complaining because it sure is easier and more fun to just do the simple equations! |

That is quite disgusting regarding farm raised salmon, which is all my nearby grocery store sells (they never sell the good wild stuff) so if I want wild salmon I have to go to a different store further away. But when I crave salmon, nowadays I drive the extra miles to get the wild kind because it just tastes so much better, and your article confirms some of the other things I had heard about farm salmon plus many more! Think I'll switch to wild salmon for good, thanks brainready |

I would just like to add that not all farm raised salmon are the same. At least no in New Zealand. My brother in law works on a Salmon farm (Akaroa Salmon) and they do not use any of the practices that are mentioned in the article. To get their pink colour they feed the salmon on shrimp imported especially from Tasmania! |

That's an excellent point, Jaya...regarding the fact that there are some salmon farms out there that work hard to avoid the kinds of common practices that occur in many/most salmon farms. From the research we've done, it appears that salmon farms in the U.S. are the most likely to do the kinds of practices mentioned in the article, so it's not surprising that your brother-in-law's salmon farm in New Zealand has very different and better practices and cares to go the extra mile to produce health and environment-friendly salmon in a farm-style environment. Such efforts should be applauded |

Thank you! |

HI |
|
where can you buy fresh wild salmon? and how do you know for sure you are getting the wild salmon? |
|
What about white, wild salmon? My husband and I caught several on a fishing trip in British Columbia and found it very tasty. They say it is not pink because the larger fish..30+ pounds .. do not have shrimp as their main diet. Any thought on this? |
