I learned the power of association when I was about 17 years old. My father gave me a book (I forget the name!). The author was Dr. Furst, and he associated the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 with words (tea, Noah, may ray, law jaw, key fee, bay, toes). Once this list is memorized, you can then use them to create visual associations (or any other kind) to create a link between the object, item, thought, etc. you want to remember and the scenario created with the words. It really works, and, as you probably know, the more outlandish the association, the better. Do you happen to know the name of the book? I'd like to give it to my wife and children. My wife is suffering from Lyme disease, and she is wrestling with memory problems, and I think association would be of great benefit to her.

I don't know the name of the book but almost any book by Tony Buzan with memory in the title will have a similar approach. Hope this helps.
