What puzzles me more about this, in our unfortunate era of "celebrity journalism," is why such a move by Marcia Clark may be broadly welcomed and even celebrated, and accomplished with apparent ease, but it would be nearly impossible for a veteran reporter to similiarly don the prosecutor's hat and go striding as confidently into the courtroom? Yes, I know there's the simple matter of having had to go to law school but the point is this - with no solid experience in the craft she is now practicing, what gives her the right, and what in fact ensures competence or responsible practice?
