Every time I've taken a test in EMS, especially in a class run by the local government, everyone always says, "The only thing that matters is that you passed."
I suppose if a patient is delivered to the ED with a bad splint, 2 pts low of blood and cyanotic due to no O2 administered then "the only thing that matters is they're alive."
It's heartening to hear people that take EMS so seriously (as they should) amid this sea of cynicism and disregard.
Keep up the good work!
