Gravatar My thoughts are if someone is willing to settler for "good enough" or "passing" when they know they can do better and are just too lazy to do it, what kind of attitude are they taking to the patient?

Gravatar Well, Professor,

I'm sorry I set you off. Actually, I'm not sorry. I'm quite moved by what you've said. Your "rant" is dead on!. I encourage you to read the MacMedic's most recent post. It give the perspective from a more experienced seasoned medic that, I think, feels much the same way we do.

Keep it up, Prof.!

Gravatar Well I'm not a "rookie" and I'm not quite a "vet" yet either, but this has always been my spin on it. If you are going to "choose" to do anything , be it burger flipper, doctor, racecar driver, porno shopkeeper, or EMT... You should try and be better at it than everyone else. This is not to say that you will be or even that you CAN be.. but it should be your goal to be the very best you can possibly be.

You better flip the burger better than the next guy! You better be more schooled than the next doctor. You should always drive faster, and turn more left! Sell your booth tokens faster and eith more ease than the other porno guys. And as an EMT you need to continue your education, get high marks, know your patients, know your pathologys.. and just plain strive everyday to be better than you were the day before.

*whew* off my soapbox now.. just my 2c
