The last time I was at state (Dec?) it was a mob scene. Amazing how a place so big and open can end up with traffic issues, given the right drink specials/ giveaways.

Wow, free drinks for 2 hours?? That's crazy. I wasn't aware bars in normal places did that either. I hateee when bars are filled with college kids though...since I look 18, I inevitably get hit on by them. Sweet.

damn depaul kids. haha. i liked state, it's a really awesome space and way back when i used to love mcgee's on nights when it wasn't flooded with college kids but rather young lp professionals who were hot.

yeah, chicago is filled with stuff like that. we used to go to redmonds for free domestic drafts on friday from like 6-8 or something, with an upgrade of 10 bucks to include mixed drinks, imports and 2 dollar shots and bombs. and we used to go to tequila roadhouse, which is by far the worst place in the world sober or drunk, for free drinks from like 8-10 and no cover from like 7-8.
