visit to SD is your opportunity to get kick-ass Mexican food! seriously, all I do down there is eat burritos.
I love the beach in Del Mar and that town is so pretty, a socal Carmel, if you will. Oh, and La Jolla has great food too.
That said, food is also good downtown SD and they have a new hotel called The Ivy, if you want to go out and be swanky. Otherwise, there are always good dive bars downtown or in the Del Mar/Encinitas areas...not sure where you're staying. You could go to Beauty Bar and say hi to my hipster boyfriend, haha.

i can't help you as i am unfamiliar with San Diego, only been there once for a day trip. But enjoy the warm weather. And stay classy.
How exciting for you! I love San Diego. Everything there looks like it's fresh out of a Dr. Seuss book. I agree with Cheryl. Stay classy.

you HAVE to go to Pizza Port. you know my sis lived down there for like 7 years, so i'll call her and ask about some places for you, but that's one i remember her taking me to. grungy, great beers, amazing pizza. go with a group though. it's like indoor picnic tables.

ok, called Tory. she says Vigilucci's in Encinitas, the particular Pizza Port you're supposed to go to is the one in Solana Beach, and she said to maybe check out Winston's in Ocean Beach---they have live music 7 nights a week (she used to cocktail there. ha!

I haven't been to Cali in years, but I bet no matter what you do, you will have a blast. Hey, there won't be snow anyway!
The only time I was in San Diego was to run a marathon. I could recommend the route, but my guess is they won't close down the highway for you the way they did for us.
If memory serves me correct, La Jolla, just north of SD, is beautiful. A great, high-end beach town with a darling downtown.
I've never been out that way so I can't help you. But I'm excited that you're leaving all of the snow! Have fun and bring me back a post card :D
whale's vagina? Lol, love it! All my years in Nor Cal and I've never heard that! Give a shout out when you're rollin' thru the bay again and I'll show you good time.
