Yep....you're right.
Millard, Elkhorn, Gretna et al have been doing just fine with their public schools without OPS coming along and screwing them up.

One of the most serious flaws in OPS's one city, one school plan, is that there is no intent on removing restrictions on annexing District 66. The plan itself will never happen because with current legal restrictions District 66 will never be part of the one city, one school vision.
As OPS annexes its neighbors it will dilute the quality that other neighborhoods have cultivated. OPS will see a slight increase in quality as the tax base increases but outlying schools will suffer. Meanwhile the vision of one district will never happen because of dist 66.

You got it Charles. It is a sort of "share the pain" plan, much touted by egalitarian levellers of all flavors.

Clearly, you seem to have missed the entire point of the OPS plan, like so many other Millard assholes just like you. The "One City, One School" plan is about two things: the law, which dictates that there be one school system in the city of Omaha, and fairness and equality within the public school systems as well as desegregation of our public schools. With plenty of cooperation and discussion, it is possible to create one school district that can provide all of Omaha's children with the same high-quality education and ensure that the city of Omaha will flourish. However, if this plan does not go through, the city will undoubtedly suffer.
I don't blame you for entirely missing the point of the plan. For all the money Millard spends on you kids, most of you still come out pretty damn narrow-minded and outright dumb.

I'll bet that "Anonymous" is an OPS teacher. She hasn't even read my post or she would know I'm not from Millard.
I don't care if the city will suffer, get it? I don't live in Omaha, or Millard, or inside any city limits.
Fix your own problems with your own money. Stop whining anonymously just because some folks don't like your 'plan'.
Finally, Anon, you wouldn't know the law unless it pulled you over. If you think the law in this matter is well settled, you have another think coming.

Honestly, Mike, the mention of buggery here at Plains Feeder won't be tolerated much more. I think you are really just another Millard asshole Westside wannabe. Just Grinnel and bury it.

I'm sorry, Mike, but I have to agree. We can discuss barnyard sex here, when it's appropriate, but find another site to throw around the bug.... word.

Anon,
If you want to discuss this try doing it without pointing an obnoxious bony finger when you don't know your facts.
Had you read the post you would know that PTG has no stake in Omaha's affairs. So I must assume you are attacking me. Allow me to give a little background.
I live near Immanuel,no where near Millard, never have. I went to public OPS schools. My mother taught in OPS and several of my friends work in OPS. I still disagree with what they are doing.
I believe very strongly that any large organization that takes over a smaller one without consent should be morrally obligated to providing the same level of quality to the customers of that smaller one.
This cannot happen with OPS's Eine Stadt, Eine Schule plan. Millard outperforms OPS and their tax base is to small (percentage wise) compared to the city to increase OPS's level of quality without reducing Millard's.
You mentioned the law, but you are mistaken on the details. The law does not say there should be one district. If it did there would have been challenges to Dist 66 over and over.
What the law does say is that OPS has the right to take on certain smaller districts. I would submit that because they have the right, does that mean they should? I say no. OPS needs to ask if they can maintain the quality, which they cannot.
If their goal is one district, why won't OPS challenge the dist 66 amendment? Because dist 66 is rife with old money power and those people will not allow the law to change.

Thank you, Charles! But these Anons usually dump their gobbet of bile and never look back. Seldom do they have the guts to return and defend their feeble arguments.

And Mike, jeez not gonna help you now. And it was a 56 Chevy, and the ex-wife also had a "peace sign" spray painted on the trunk lid. The police in Ames, Iowa took the car and we never got it back. What a ride; talk about mixed emotions!
