Cob Pile

interesting

PT: Remember 'Blanco Billy', our white kitty that was born about the same time as the first white buffalo? September kitties don't do too well on the farm and little Billy didn't get too far into winter before turning into a chunk of white ice.

I thought Ted Nugent killed the last white buffalo a few years ago. Man is he gonna be pissed when he finds out there's more left.

Blanco Billy! I think I have a picture of that one. Those were the days, back before global warming ruined self-imposed winter hardship. We had long stretches of way below zero and only that little two lid trash burner for heat. And no cats in the house.

The Nuge wouldn't have been happy if he had seen the way we dispatched that killer tomcat. The one we couldn't get a shot at, so we trapped it in a borrowed Havahart. The cat was so mean and vicious, it would be stupid to open the trap to shoot it. But we didn't want to damage the trap by shooting through it.

I think the final solution to the tomcat problem was my idea. A few tarps, some wire and my '72 Chevy pickup became a gas van. Hours later, the wretched thing was still yowling. JB stopped over and suggested that perhaps the system wouldn't work with unleaded!

Needless to say, we didn't eat what we killed that day. Nugent wouldn't approve.

Liked your piece better.
