On July 1, our national holiday of creation, the flags were at half mast. Some visitors(Canadians included) to our capital, Ottawa, thought it was for Micheal Jackson. It was really for a native son of my province of New Brunswick, a formar Governor General (the Queen's representative).

Goes to show how big a figure Jackson is in the media.

Anyway, have a good day July 4. I hope the Taliban don't choose to observe it by posting on the internet the beheading of that American soldier that somehow was abducted in Afghanistan.

I have a crazy theory(based on no evidence whatsoever other than my paranoia and the lack of info on how he was seized) on this. He deserted to their side and if so, will be making a speech on the internet rather than being beheaded. Like I said, it's a crazy theory.

Did they behead that soldier? I have not seen any reports on that. Goes to show you how much of the news MJ takes up.

According to a Taliban source I just heard reported on some newschannel, they claimed to have captured(they used the term 'arrested') the soldier because he had wandered away from his base while drunk. There goes my theory down the toilet. How mundane. They better tighten up on their security if that was the case. Arrested by the taliban for drunk and disorderly conduct. What's next?
