Cob Pile

Great post, Angela. If Obama's agenda is to make everyone dependent on government, and the evidence is sure pointing to that, then it's inevitable that he'll nationalize medical care any way that he can.

I'm covered by the V.A. It's a good deal for those few who are in it, but I'm sure it will be swallowed up by whatever compromised plan they come up with.

It's easy for me to say this since it won't happen but I'd prefer to lose my cushy V.A. coverage rather than see everybody dragged kicking and screaming into a totally socialized system.

I know we take a lot of shots at the Canadian system on this site, but I'll bet their system looks pretty good in comparison after the Obamacrats are finished with ours.

Our Medicare has been in effect nationally since the late 60's.

You take potshots at it but if any writers here actually lived in Canada for a while and were egible for it, I sure that person would not take potshots knowing the American system to compare it.

Just a few days ago, I went to give blood and urine samples. The results will be sent to my doctor. He will meet with me on the results. No fuss, no bother, no money directly out of my pocket. The health plan I do have through my company takes care of dental, eyes and prescriptions.

Canuckguy,

What does Canada do with people that are visiting or folks that are not there legally?

The illegals are pampered and taken care off. They just have to whine about being a refugee.

The visitors are billed. Most travellers have personal or travel insurance. I really don't know what happens if an insured visitor requires hospitalization. I would guess he is billed directly.

Illegal people in the United States are pampered and taken care of but on our dime ie: the tax payers.
