I think you're onto something, PT. One woman I know, who isn't of a mind to take crap from anyone, finds the burqa appealing. She's quite good at making clothes so I wouldn't be surprised if she already has a burqa packed away in her closet next to her buckskin dress and hawt (thanks J) Amish outfit.

The hairddos and burqas don't really answer the question (for us guys) but I think they're clues.

These women are victims for the most part. Many were raised that way or were suckered into it. It is just formalized domestic abuse, common enough in countless individual households lorded over by some beer bellied loser slob wife beater. You know the kind. You probably know some.

You know what I think the appeal is for the women? Having other women around to help you with your children. Hence, having the time to do complicated hairstyles, complicated baking, uncomplicated napping, etc.
