Jekyll and Hyde?
Molly and Wally?
Ideas appreciated please, bearing in mind no cutesy names- no Lollipop, Cuddles or other such nonsense. The two adult females are called Thelma and Louise, the two adult males are Roger and Tripod. e | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 7:00 am | #

I'd love to see the guinea pigs, but I'm upstairs where the screen is 800x600, so I can't as the pictures are rendering with the second almost diagonally over the first.
They're nice baked in clay I understand. Ah, no, that's hedgehogs isn't it? Blue Witch | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 8:43 am | #

Any better? Eat your words, Witchy, not guinea-pigs. I know you're just winding me up because of the pigeon-pie. e | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 11:25 am | #

Aw, those are so cute! Our guinea pig is Piggy. (And our cat was Kitty). Good luck with the silky breeding program. Katie | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 2:45 pm | #

Yes, that's solved it.
I had that problem when putting up the 'change a LCD camera screen' photo sequence. There must be a better way of spacing them than using [br]s. But I don't know what it is.

If you use money names, you could have Florin, Tanner, Shilling, Farthing etc etc for the next litters. Saves too much thinking every time you have new ones.
Do guinea pigs have 'litters'? Blue Witch | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 6:45 pm | #

Two or three maximum. And they have very long gestations- 60-70 days. That's why they emerge fully feathered and able to eat solids within 2 days.
So you say you want a pair of baby guinea-pigs? (Can't keep 'em alone, you see) Can you wait till September? (breeding programme underway, see above re pregnancy length, etc) e | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 7:49 pm | #

Are they male and female then? What about Pyramus and Thisbe? Caroline | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 9:05 pm | #

Perfect, Caroline! We all love Midsummer Night's as well- the children have acted in/seen it at least four times, including one tri-lingual effort in French, English and Cree. e | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 9:22 pm | #

All my Familiars have to be able to earn their keep. Guinea pigs, sadly, wouldn't... But I still want one Blue Witch | Email | Homepage | 11.05.05 - 10:46 pm | #

And your cat earns its keep how exactly? *whistles nonchalantly* e | Email | Homepage | 12.05.05 - 8:34 am | #

Fluff earns her weight in rats, mice and rabbits. She also goes for voles which we quite like and are trying to train here to recognise and leave alone.
It's amazing, she hardly eats any cat food. We have a tub in the garage (where she sleeps) and only fill it with Costco-buy-in-a-hundredweight-at a-time cat food about once every 2/3 weeks.
She is therefore definitely a value cat and damn cute with it
we win hah hah
ps I still want to know why you have one silky with no neck MrBW | Email | Homepage | 12.05.05 - 12:55 pm | #

It's just small, all right? There is nothing wrong with that bird.
And your cat I'm sure also eats large amounts of avian flesh. Killer.
Pigs win!! Ha ha! e | Email | Homepage | 12.05.05 - 2:42 pm | #

Guinea pigs have been known to produce more than 3 babies... My friend's delivered 6 on one occasion - she was one fat momma GoodTwin | Email | Homepage | 12.05.05 - 4:32 pm | #

I know. It was a bit of a shock to everyone, not just her. She suffered quite badly with skin problems before and after.
The babies were very different to each other, I think she'd been sleeping around... GoodTwin | Email | Homepage | 13.05.05 - 2:53 pm | #

The one without the neck turned out to be too neckless to live, alas. She was always weaker than the others, but we found her stiff as a stuffed chook this morning. :| e | Email | Homepage | 14.05.05 - 12:49 pm | #

No wonder she's forced to g out and fend for herself if all you offer her is CostCo cat food. If I was eating the same thing day in, day out, I'd probably go feral too.
Ginger familiar is rather adorable, though. Alan | Email | Homepage | 16.05.05 - 8:02 am | #
