There's a party in the cupboard

OK Danielle, I will now head over to Barnes & Nobel, don the headphones, scan a Disney disc and open my mind. In my defense, I've not seen many of the newer Disney movies - I really did enjoy Little Mermaid but would have enjoyed it more if the 4-year old I was baby sitting didn't keep running up the aisle and out of the theatre. Very late in the movie after retrieving him for like the 10th time I got him to tell me what his deal was... he was terrified of the Octopus Witch.
I will reserve judgement, free my mind and get back to you on my Disney song experience.
Headache better?

UNFATHOMABLE?! With all due respect, woman, I will not sit idly by while my harbingers of joy are desecrated in such a wanton manner. Disney songs are cute, clever, and eminently sing-alongable. Those of us who were born in the early-to-mid 80's may have missed out on a number of cultural milestones, but we should never take for granted that we had the good fortune to be in the perfect age bracket during The Golden Age of Disney Movies. What joy can match that of a seven-year-old pretending to be a mermaid in the free time after swimming lessons, trying to sputter out as many words of "Part of Your World" as she can without swallowing a barfable amount of pool water, or that of a nine-year-old who makes the fourth grade talent show as part of a coed (gasp!) octet singing "A Whole New World"? Where would we be as a nation without the wisdom of "Hakuna Matata," the comedy gold of "Friend Like Me," the bestiality-esque undertones of "Beauty and the Beast"? Oh, Disney songs! Seriously, put on "Under the Sea" for ten seconds and tell me you're not bobbing your head along to its infectious Caribbean beat. Oh, your words hurt me, Anna, but I forgive you, because I have no choice but to show mercy and compassion for one whose opinion is in such grave, grave error.
Very Sincerely,
The Webmaster

C'mon DanielleDoll, Superfreak is jump-up-and-boogaloo fabulous, Shoup I get... but your charming gravitation to Disney songs is down right unfathomable to me.
That and the fact that you walked 15 blocks in Chi city heat to save $1.50, but didn't feel the need to type swear word #@!* when the cat knocked over the $6 splurge of roses. You're an enigma.
PS Back to the keys/fire escape blurb. When you come home, lock the door and leave the key in it. Voila. I always knew where my key was and always remembered to lock the door safely behind me lest I be followed home by some creep off the L.
