There's a party in the cupboard

no .. I'm pretty sure it is blindness.

Gravatar Blindness? No, I can't remember my mother ever talking about it. Ever.

I know a few people, some of whom I think a great deal, who have never been heard by these ears to use profanity in any form. ('Fart' is the other F-word.) And so when I'm around them, I abstain as well. It's really not that big a deal. But it does make me wonder, when did all this catagorization within the phenomenon of language begin? You know, who first had the novel idea that certain words were okay, and others were inherently evil? Did some cavewoman from the Paleolithic suddenly get the impulse to smack her son across the noggin when he was heard grunting inappropriately, and then look around for something that wasn't invented yet with which to wash out his mouth? I mean, isn't the quest for proper speech just the epitome of our obsession with making divisions in the strata of our culture so that we can place ourselves on the 'right' side of the issue and pat ourselves on the back for being there? Is there any end to the minutiae of the chimera of self-imposed morality?

Now where did I put my glasses?

Gravatar The reason for this blatant use of censorship is obvious. Newspapers rely on their readership for revenue. The readership relies on their eye sight to read the newspapers. "What Mr. MysteryMeat does this have to do with the M-word?", You maybe asking. Well we all know that excessive masturbation leads to blindness (didn’t your mother tell you so?).
