Oh yeah, the quote... To give evil form is to invite evil home is from a cheesy movie you will have a hard time finding called "Celler Dweller" it was about a comic book artist who gave evil form and it took over eating all his friends. It could have been a new Twilight Zone or The Red Door.

Some of us search forever for the treasure, only to find that it was within us the entire time. Thanks for the beautiful reminder.
Encouraging students to dream and teaching them to find the treasure within is why I teach 5th graders. Ten years old is a magical age. Kids are just starting to learn who they are and where they fit in the world.
Often at this age children tend to be a bit mouthy and stubborn as they try on different ways of thinking and feeliing. I have the awesome priviledge of being a part of that, and helping them form a self-concept that validates thaem as valuable and having something worthwhile to share.
For this reason the problem children are often sent to my classroom. I don't punish and scold. I help them look at their behaviors in light of what they wanted, and what they actually received, then I teach them better ways to act. Basically, as well as teaching the 3 R's and a bit of science, I teach respect -- for self and others.

Hi Quilldancer, as Rob says there is nothing wrong with a little shameless horn-tooting, to bolster one's energy levels. After all one needs almost boundless energy when dealing with 10 year olds. And you seem to show boundless energy 24/7. My favourite pic is still that water fight and the two kids in the large water bucket, and your reply to a visitors querie on how you raised such beautiful flowers, words to the effect of "tender care and watering..."

Yeah Hi serenity, as I said, almost two in the morning, and a butterfly just fluttered in thru the open window. Must have been out for a late night. Anyway flew round the front room several times, but must have found somewhere cosy and out of sight to settlle down for the night.

The treasure within, indeed.....a kaleidascope of colors, reminds me of Morano Glass paperweights, they dazzle me with their brilliance. A stunning picture.....I wouldn't mind having one of these to look at all the time. I went and checkout Dailyville's Photos, WONDERFUL......
Dreaming is the beginning of all good ideas....don't you think? Nothing is ever accomplished that hasn't been the brainchild of someone dream.....and it all comes from one dream or another.

Everything is about daring to dream, reaching dreams or having one's dreamscome true, whether it be the lottery, love, price charming, the right man, the perfect house, the perfect career or job, the perfect car, the perfect garden, the perfect child, ... and reality redshifts just a litle behind the ideal lagging behind the dream.
For like a child with short attention span, as soon as we reach or achieve one dream, our mind looks for the next thing. Like you say with your house, possiblywhen it is perfect or just so, you'll be looking for the next place to make perfect or just so ... and on and on
