Just when we think we have something figured out, the Universe throws us a curveball!
Cool pic!

Fascinating! Even stellar explosions can be unpredictable.
That image is certainly colorful! Maybe they should name G292.0+1.8 the Pepperland Nebula.

in uniformity lies strangeness. the chaotic nature of supernova itself may bend the rules of physics to immortalize new phenomena. what is exciting is that even when we brand the stellar explosions, the differences that assures us that we will never stop learning about the universe.

Hi dad2059,
you could say in this case it is a matter of seeing more clearly and deeper into the past, after the fact.

Wow! To have x-ray telescopic vision and be able to walk outside at night and see such sights would be so cool! Oh, wait, we do - thanks to Nasa and other scientific institutions (and your blog).

Q9,
However, the kick direction and the pulsar spin direction do not appear to be aligned
They could name this part of G292.0+1.8 GWB II...

On second thought...just because GWBush's brain is misdirected and full of "spin" is no reason to diminish the beauty of such wonders.

Hi Pandabonium,
that's what the net is all about, closing distances even cosmic ones, and bringing it all closer on earth.

I shan't comment on GW's state of mind, but that's a curious profile pic you are showing.
